Job Purpose:
The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for the mechanical maintenance of process manufacturing equipment and support systems within assigned areas. Must have the ability and willingness to work overtime and take call-ins as needed, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Safely and effectively troubleshoot and repair designated equipment.
• Ability to prioritize information and tasks within your assigned area.
• Troubleshoot failures and upsets on plant equipment, including pumps, motors, rotating equipment.
• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance activities.
• Conduct inspections, lubrications, and diagnosing trouble sources in machinery and equipment.
• Repairing/ modifying or replacing new and existing plant equipment.
• Planning and laying out work, interpreting blueprints, manuals, and other specifications.
• Safely use a variety of tools and equipment associated with completion of varied work assignments.
Requirements:
• Certified Journeyman with a minimum of 3 years of journeyman experience OR a 2-year educational certificate/associate degree in industrial maintenance or other relevant course of study and 3 years applicable work experience OR must have 7 or more years of relevant maintenance experience.
• Must be able to perform the essential physical requirements of the position.
• Completion of a qualified maintenance training program and 3 years relevant work experience OR minimum of 7 years relevant maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
• You should have worked in your current position for at least 18 months and meet the pre-requisites of the position.
