Job Purpose:
We are seeking a Sales Development Leader to oversee sales and business development for a high growth and active Midwest/Central Region of the United States. This role will be responsible for driving Sales, overseeing Key Distributor Accounts, and optimizing sales growth and margin expectations supporting both the ACRYLITE and LEXAN Sheet product lines while leveraging our Channel Partners to grow share in the Midwest Region of the US. The ideal candidate will combine strong sales, application development and analytical skills with hands-on experience in both customer development as well as continuous process improvement.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Drives Sheet Core Volume growth with the Distribution Sales Teams and participates in Product Training, Joint Calls, and NPI implementation across the Midwest Region of the United States with focus on growing the POLYVANTIS market share.
- Leverages internal functional support such as Inside Sales/Customer Service, Pricing, Supply Chain and Manufacturing critical to delivering value to the market.
- Drives and supports continuous commercial process improvement across the value chain …. From Manufacturing through to the ultimate customer/user.
- Effectively drives growth and knowledge sharing of the ACRYLITE and LEXAN Products through the various Distribution Sales channels creating Product Blitzes, Branch Product Training, and Application Translations ....
- Drives and Develops a Core Sheet Target List of Key New Business Opportunities (> $5M Annually) in select Core Sheet Grade Products to ensure new business growth goals are achieved. This can be both Share Shift and New Business Opportunity Development.
- Builds strong working relationships with high level leaders of the Distributor and Conversion/Fabrication value-chain in order to anticipate Customer Needs and market changes.
- Holds regular Business Review sessions with Channel Partners—evaluating performance, new product introduction success, application translations and competitive updates.
- Consolidates, collects and analyzes comprehensive information on Branch Accounts business potential: Proposes overall Branch plans to drive Lexan and Acrylite, sheet growth and maintains these plans to meet sales targets within the Lexan & Acrylite sheet portfolio.
- Understands and completes a competitive analysis in the Midwestern United States—understanding regional preferences and develops plans and strategies to compete in the market place by providing management with those key strategies and plans.
- Implements Sheet Product Strategies with our Distributor Partners consistent with the Polyvantis OP in order to deliver volume growth and meet margin expectations.
- Supports Distribution Outside Sales with Technical assistance, product knowledge and commercial support by making joint calls at existing and new Lexan & Acrylite Accounts.
Market Development Requirements:
- Independently addresses a wide range of moderately complex problems and applies moderately innovative solutions to Close Core business utilizing the TVC Tool for Pricing
- Defines fulfillment and supply chain needs to minimize transportation and logistics costs to serve
- Sets pricing, establishes price points and Implements (CPL’s) Customer Price Lists
- Selects which Distributors are best suited to provide product and service to Key OEM’s and Fabricators
- Also responsible for profitability of multiple distributor accounts and is measured on CM$ Growth (not just sales)
- Clients are large and complex with Multiple interfaces—Management, Outside Sales & Inside Sales.
Education & Experience:
- BS in Business, MBA preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 10 years sales/distribution management experience
- Very good interpersonal, communication, and influencing skills
- Extensive market and product knowledge
- Account Management/Strong Problem Solving skills
- Leadership Skills/Strong sales background
